-
The article explores the evolution of thinking and writing of Martinican author Édouard Glissant. The author's writing is said to be often divided into two periods, namely, before and after the publication of his essay "Le Discours antillais." The author explains that the first period focuses on Martinique while the second deals with the concept of the Tout-monde. Glissant's concepts of Relation, creolization and opacity and the relation of these to the Caribbean are discussed.
