Résumé
The article elaborates the concept of creolization evident in the writings of Martiniquan novelist, theorist, poet and playwright Êdouard Glissant and its relation to historical events. It argues that Glissant's work suggests that socially significant events reveal the workings of social validation and political coalescence in the context of Caribbean societies. It focuses on the shift in "Poétique de la Relation," which recognized the social impact of events.
