Overview of the theory of composite and hybrid cultures as advanced by Glissant; Account of Glissant's poetic work as an attempt to de-center the notions of linguistic purity and cultural homogeneity; Highlights of the poetic collection published in 1991 "Fastes" that demonstrates the richness and diversity of the Caribbean identity.
